This is a portrait of a young Fred Hampton who was a chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party in the late 1960s and assassinated by the Chicago police at age 22. There are many iconic photos of Fred Hampton speaking at protests. I am curious about who he was as young man. This portrait is a paper lithograph print based on a high school photograph of Hampton.
